Ford as always been known for allowing drivers to customize their Mustangs. The 2013 Mustang customizer website already has over 1.3 million different mustangs created, but for the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) they left the customization to the professionals.
Four third-party created Mustangs were unveiled at SEMA, and all of them boasting increased performance and unique styling.
The first was a sleek and stylish white and black Mustang sponsored by DSO Eyewear. Starting with the base 5.0-liter V8 found in the 2013 Mustang GT, DSO added a Whipple supercharger and intercooler. The upgrades were able to boost the engine output to 750 horsepower. The Ringbrothers followed suit adding a supercharger and larger wheels to a 2013 GT Coupe, while also upgrading the suspension.
The Stitchbrothers really focused on aesthetics; especially on the interior where they added leather swaths to the seats of a 2013 Mustang V6 convertible. Of course they couldn’t overlook adding some extra juice, so they outfitted their Mustang with a Flowmaster exhaust system and nitrous injection.
The combined effort of the teams at Autosport Dynamics, RTR and Mothers boosted the 5.0-liter V8’s power to an impressive 650 horsepower, and equipped their Mustang with a “track-ready” suspension. A customer RTR carbon fiber body kit gives their Mustang a unique look all their own.
