July Events in Cambridge, Ohio

July Events in Cambridge, Ohio

Many local communities fire up a variety of events each summer and Cambridge, Ohio’s turnout tends to be consistent year after year. Popular activities draw crowds to multiple events each summer. While not every event can be a success, it can be a little hard to weed out those that won’t be popular. Fortunately, there are plenty of July events in Cambridge that are worth attending!

Cambridge Main Street Farmers’ Market

Finding the freshest produce, meeting new people, and learning more about the food you eat is best done at a local farmers’ market. The Cambridge Main Street Farmers’ Market is held every Friday in July. Locally grown produce is fresher than what you can find at a local supermarket or grocery store. On top of that, it’s often much more affordable as well! Get up a little earlier to attend the farmers’ market this July!

Rock the Block Rhythm & Arts Walk

If you’re one for live music, hands-on creativity, food, and shopping, then the Rock the Block Rhythm & Arts Walk is the event for you! The event takes place each month in summer with a different theme each time. July’s theme is Christmas in July and will feature vendors, sidewalk demonstrations, and more. Best of all, it all takes place in Historic Downtown Cambridge!

We here at Cambridge Classis Ford hope to see you as some of these events later this summer!

5 Apps Every College Student Needs

Colleges are starting up all over the country. With moving day approaching, it important to make sure that you have everything loaded up and ready to go. Waiting for the day before you leave for school is not the ideal time to have to go out and pick up a last minute purchase.

The purchases you can make last minute are those apps for your smart phone. We’ve found some must-have apps that every college student should have this year. Better yet…they’re all free!!

1. Lemon Wallet – For those of us who are prone to losing things no matter how hard we try, this might be the app for you. It keeps track of any card in your wallet that you add to the system. Just in case you’re prone to losing to your phone, you might want to skip this one.

2. Duolingo – If you’re taking a language class this year, these extra lessons and tests will go a long way towards helping you pass.

3. Viber – Free texting and voice calls from any distance make this the perfect choice if you’re studying abroad.

4. AnyList – Are you living with roommates and not on your school’s meal plan? That means you’re buying groceries and you want to avoid repeat purchases. Or maybe you want to update the grocery list before your roommate goes shopping. If so, definitely download this one.

5. Chegg – You can’t pass a class without the textbooks and they are expensive! Rent them for the semester and enjoy free shipping too.

When you do manage to break away from your crazy college schedule for a trip home, remember to schedule a service for your car. It’ll be hard to get back to school if your car isn’t tuned up.

Ford Gives WWII Veterans a Special Gift

On the 69th anniversary of D-Day, Ford sponsored an Honor Flight for 26 World War II veterans and their guardians to visit the National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. The 26 trip members from Kentucky were greeted at the National World War II Memorial by Ford employees. Members of Congress were also invited to attend.

The Honor Flight veterans, who are now in their late eighties and nineties, also visited the Korean War Veterans Memorial and the Iwo Jim Memorial. The Bluegrass Chapter of the Honor Flight Network organized the trip for the veterans.

Al Lindsey, the manager of material planning and logistics at Ford’s Louisville Assembly Plant said, “As a veteran myself, it is an honor and privilege to travel to Washington, D.C., alongside these brave Americans who served our country nearly 70 years ago. I hope this visit serves as a demonstration of the lasting impact of – and appreciation for – their historic sacrifice.”

This example of Ford’s continued dedication to our veterans makes Cambridge Classic Ford so proud to be a part of the family. Other organizations would do well to follow Ford’s example of honoring and supporting our veterans.

Ford Pledges Oklahoma Tornado Relief Donation

The news over the past couple of days has been full of heart wrenching images of the devastation caused by the tornados in Oklahoma. Special attention has been paid to Moore, Oklahoma because of the horrific EF-5 tornado that tore through the area on Monday leveling entire neighborhoods. Since Monday, disaster relief agencies and emergency response personnel have been working around the clock, trying to do what they can to save and help these poor people.

Our nation has promised federal aid and other nations have offered their prayers and condolences. Cambridge Classic Ford and its staff also extend our deepest sympathies to all those affected by this disaster. We cannot imagine how difficult this time is for all Oklahoma residents and their families.

This is why the Ford Motor Company and its dealers are donating $400,000 to help with relief efforts. In addition to Ford’s monetary donation, a Ford Transit Connect van is also being donated to the American Red Cross for relief services and emergency preparedness education. Also, the Ford Motor Company is providing $500 in new vehicle purchase assistance to those residents in the affected area whose vehicles were damaged by the tornados.

The Ford Motor Company Fund will match donations up to $250,000 from its employees, dealer, and the public to support the relief efforts of the American Red Cross. If you would like to contribute, please go to: http://american.redcross.org/ford-pub.

Cambridge is Focused on the Ford Focus

Just in case you don’t already know, the Ford Motor Company recently revealed that the Focus was the best-selling nameplate in the world for the year 2012. Just over 1 million Focus small cars were sold. Most of these sales happened in China, with over a quarter of all Focus sales. The United States came in as the second largest sales market.

This success is continuing on in 2013. Not that this comes as a surprise to those of us at Cambridge Classic Ford. The 2.0L It-VCT direct-injection I-4 engine is just as powerful as it is fuel efficient. With an EPA estimated 26 mpg city and 36 mpg highway, you really do get a lot of bang for your buck.

With standard dual-stage front airbags, front-seat side-impact, and SafetyCanopy™ side-curtain airbags in the first and second row, this is one of the most safety oriented cars on the market. The combination of the latest technology, safety features, and fuel efficiency make the Ford Focus a great investment. Added standard details like the AdvanceTrac electronic stability control and Tire Pressure Monitoring System, give the driver the grip needed to stay on the road and in control.

Maybe you’re a parent or a grandparent looking for the perfect car to keep your kids and grandkids safe. Or maybe you’re just a regular Joe or Jane wanting to keep yourself and your friends safe while saving a few dollars on gas. The Focus has everything you need, no matter what your life situation is.

Come on down to Cambridge Classic Ford and check out the 2013 Ford Focus. We know you’ll love it just as much as the rest of the world does.

Best Cars for Your Money

You work hard for your money and when you spend it, you want to make the best decision possible. When it comes to buying a car, you want to make sure that you’re getting something worth every single penny. Those pennies can add up quickly, but when they’re worth it, then making the purchase makes sense.

We understand that you still want to get all of the great options that come with the cars these days, but you also don’t want to have to pay an arm and a leg for those options either. What’s the solution? Buy a Ford that made the 2013 U.S. News list of “Best Cars for the Money”.

Out of twenty-one possible winning spots, Ford claimed the top spot in six categories. This is the most of any other car maker on the list. Make sure you get your money’s worth and purchase a Ford. Here are the six winners that Ford had on the list:

1. Ford Fusion – midsize cars

2. Ford Taurus – large cars

3. Ford Focus – compact cars

4. Ford Fusion Hybrid – hybrid cars

5. Ford Escape – compact SUVs

6. Ford Edge – 2-row midsize SUVs

So the next time you’re looking to upgrade, buy a Ford. It’s worth it.

Rough, Tough, and Ready – the 2013 Ford Explorer Sport

Let’s face it, not every outing you make in your car is going to be an easy one. In fact, you’re likely to encounter more bumps in the road than smooth stretches of blacktop. And don’t forget to take into account the road trips. Whether you are traveling with family or friends, we know that you’re going to have a full car and even the best route may take you through rocky terrain.

That’s why you, as a driver, need to be prepared for anything the road can throw at you. It also helps to have a vehicle that offers a comfortable ride for everyone. To this end, Cambridge Classic Ford recommends a SUV that has been tested both on and off the road: the 2013 Ford Explorer Sport.

There is plenty of space for all of your passengers and your luggage. With the amount of digital devices that we all carry, Ford was wise enough to place an assortment of outlets in the 2013 Explorer Sport to keep everyone charged throughout your travels. The all-wheel drive and twin-turbo 3.5L V6 engine make for a smooth, but super charged ride.

If you’re looking for an athletic SUV with an aggressive wheel/tire package that can go 0-60 mph in seven seconds, then look no further. Come in to Cambridge Classic Ford and pick out your 2013 Ford Explorer Sport today. Make sure you have your first trip planned and ready to go because this isn’t an SUV that’s meant to sit around in the garage all day.

Spring Driving Tips

It seems like spring may finally arrive this weekend! That means everyone will be getting out on the road and really letting loose for the first time this season. We’re sure that for many of you that will mean rolling the windows down and going for a cruise with the radio blasting. While we’re all for having fun and feeling the wind blow through your hair, we would like to offer a little cautionary advice.

  1. Beware of the potholes! After the winter treatments applied to the roadways and the plow trucks being out and about, there are sure to be a few new potholes popping up. So keep your eyes open.
  2. Drivers are not the only ones who are excited to experience the spring weather properly for the first time. Our children and those of our friends, relatives, and neighbors are eager to be out in the sun as well. Make sure you look both ways.
  3. Don’t forget to look out for animals too. Animals are likely to be outside a lot more exploring the fresh sights, sounds, and smells. They are also the least likely to check for cars before crossing into the roadway.
  4. For those inevitable days when it rains, SLOW DOWN. Wet pavement is dangerous because it increases the amount of time you need to stop and it can negatively affect your vehicle’s handling ability. And while it may seem fun to drive through puddles, we recommend that you avoid those or decrease your speed as much as possible. Puddles, especially large ones, can lead to hydroplaning due to decreased tire traction.

Picking Your Playmaker, One Power Play at a Time

In honor of the NCAA basketball tournament going on right now, we wanted to highlight one of our own frontrunners. While Cambridge Classic Ford certainly understands how important basketball season is (hey, we’re fans too!), we’re taking the time to concentrate on another type of player…the 2013 Ford F-150 XL.

Just think of the 2013 F-150 XL as the post player in a basketball game. This is the machine that does the heavy lifting, executes power moves, provides a little extra elbow room, and still maintains the hard and ready look you expect from such a powerful playmaker. Yes, we said it, a playmaker.

We love that the 2013 F-150 has three-point restraint safety belts and Safety-Canopy side airbags. It’s just the kind of protection you expect from the post position. And for those days when you’re hauling a heavy load (a basketball hoop or the hopes of an entire basketball team for example), the fully boxed frame and trailer sway control definitely come in handy.

Every team needs a point guard, but without the post player, who would do all of the heavy lifting? That’s why the saying goes, “Built Ford Tough”.
