The 11th Annual Carganza

We are gearing up for our 11th Annual Carganza sales event here at Cambridge Classic Ford. This is our biggest sale of the year and it runs from March 28th through March 30th.

Thursday, March 28th and Friday, March 29th, the sale will be kicking off at 9:00 a.m. and running until close at 7:00 p.m. The hours are a little different for Saturday, so be sure to take note. Saturday, March 30th, we will be opening our doors at 9:00 a.m. and closing out the sale at 5:00 p.m.

Local radio station, WCMJ, will be on site Friday. They will be playing some great music and helping us out with the giveaway wheel. The giveaway wheel is your chance to win some great prizes. In order to get a chance to spin the giveaway wheel, you either need to make a purchase or register for the event. You can register prior to our 9:00 a.m. Thursday start or you can register when you arrive. When you register, your name will be entered into a drawing and names will be chosen at random for a chance to spin the giveaway wheel and earn a great prize. If you purchase a vehicle, you automatically win a chance to spin the wheel.

Prizes vary from a detailing option, oil change, or other service option to special event tickets that will be provided by WCMJ. As an additional treat, on Friday and Saturday we will be providing a free lunch starting at 12:00 p.m. both days. This year lunch is being provided by Karen’s Country Kitchen.

All are welcome and we can’t wait to see everyone at Cambridge Classic Ford!

Picking Your Playmaker, One Power Play at a Time

In honor of the NCAA basketball tournament going on right now, we wanted to highlight one of our own frontrunners. While Cambridge Classic Ford certainly understands how important basketball season is (hey, we’re fans too!), we’re taking the time to concentrate on another type of player…the 2013 Ford F-150 XL.

Just think of the 2013 F-150 XL as the post player in a basketball game. This is the machine that does the heavy lifting, executes power moves, provides a little extra elbow room, and still maintains the hard and ready look you expect from such a powerful playmaker. Yes, we said it, a playmaker.

We love that the 2013 F-150 has three-point restraint safety belts and Safety-Canopy side airbags. It’s just the kind of protection you expect from the post position. And for those days when you’re hauling a heavy load (a basketball hoop or the hopes of an entire basketball team for example), the fully boxed frame and trailer sway control definitely come in handy.

Every team needs a point guard, but without the post player, who would do all of the heavy lifting? That’s why the saying goes, “Built Ford Tough”.

Sports Cars Aren’t the Only Ones That Can Tear Up the Track

We at Cambridge Classic Ford remember how it used to be that if you wanted a car that was comfortable and easy going, you would have to settle for a vehicle that couldn’t bring the heat on a track. You’d be lucky if it had any pick-up at all if you floored it. If you wanted to go fast, you would have had to get a big, powerful muscle car or sports car.

These days, that line between performance car and utility car is blurring quite a bit. Advances in technology as well as a shift in what consumers want and expect are changing the game up. Little cars like the Ford Fiesta can now zip around a track and show up many other cars that might look faster. Check it out for yourself though, as this Ford Fiesta ST tears up the Lommel Track 7:

The Top Ten Bestselling Ford Models of All Time

This week we’ve got an interesting list – the top ten bestselling Ford models. Some you will likely know for sure, others may come as a surprise to you.  We here at Cambridge Classic hope that you find this as interesting as we did:

10. Ford Explorer (1990-present), E-Series (1961-present), and Transit (1965-present) – a tie between three models that have each sold 6,000,000 units over their many generations.

9. Ford Mondeo (1993-present) – selling over 6,500,000 units, this model is also known as the Contour and now the Fusion.

8. Ford Ranger (1983-present) – has sold over 7,000,000 worldwide.

7. Ford Taurus (1986-present) – over six generations, it has sold around 8,000,000 units.

6. Ford Mustang (1964-present) – has sold over 10,000,000 over five generations and is Ford’s longest-running car nameplate.

5. Ford Focus (1998-present) – in just three generations, the Focus has sold over 11,000,000 units.

4. Ford Fiesta (1976-present) – 15,000,000 units sold, spanning six generations.

2. Ford Escort (1968-2003) – a total of 20,000,000 have been sold worldwide, with Europe buying up over 12,000,000.

1. Ford F-Series (1948-present) – Ford’s bestselling vehicle of all time has sold around 35,000,000 units, the F-Series has also been the bestselling vehicle in the U.S. for 28 consecutive years.

There are some really impressive numbers on there, and several that may not be cars you’d think of as being in the top ten. Nevertheless, it’s really interesting to see those kinds of numbers and to look at what vehicles people have chosen consistently. Have you owned any of those on the list? Ford Beats GM in Heavy-Duty Pickup Truck Sales in 2012

Ford Super Duty

If you hadn’t heard the word from PickupTrucks.com, Cambridge Classic Ford is proud to say it’s true: Ford defeated both GM and Ram in heavy-duty pickup truck sales. Topping 119,338 heavy-duty pickups compared to GM’s 111,555 and Ram’s much lower 77,583 trucks sold.

This is a great victory.  Customers who buy heavy-duty pickup trucks tend to be very loyal customers. You don’t really hear many truck-crazy guys talking about how they couldn’t care less between the truck brands… you hear them argue and defend their brand of choice! This goes to show that Ford is really showing its strength by attracting the biggest following.  This following is one that is likely to stick around for years to come and continue to support Ford.

So, this isn’t really just a one-year victory, it’s a sign of Ford dominance in the market, which is a sign in itself of Ford’s unbeatable quality and care for its customers. If you haven’t yet experienced Ford, you really should. You may never want to choose another brand again!
