Enjoy the Guernsey County Fair!

Local fairs are some of the best events during the summer and fall due to their popularity. County fairs offer a chance to see things you wouldn’t normally see like a tractor pull—and the Guernsey County Fair is no exception. The Guernsey County Fair is coming up soon and here’s everything you need to know!

This year’s fair has its share of events, ranging from a tractor pull to professional wrestling matches. Taking place from September 12th to the 17th, this year’s Guernsey County Fair promises to be a memorable one.

For those who want to push their limits, check out the NTPA truck and tractor pull as well as the open truck and tractor pull. Even if you don’t want to compete, watching the competitors is just as much fun.

Those who want a laid back competition can enter or watch the cornhole tournament. Meanwhile, those with a need for destruction can check out the Smash It Demo Derby and OCW Professional Wrestling.

That’s not even the half of it! This year’s fair will features rides and more events than we have space to list. Stop by for some good, old fashioned fun!

Even if none of those spectacular events are enough to draw your interest, at least stop by for some famous fair food.

There are always great Cambridge events going on and we have a list of 3 going on this weekend for you to check out. The list of events covers Friday and Saturday.

Tomorrow, Friday the 29th, is the Cambridge Main Street Farmers Market. Are you looking for good locally grown produce or amazing locally made crafts? Then this farmers market is the place for you to be! It is from 9am until 1 pm on East 8th Street in historic downtown by the Guernsey County Courthouse.

There are two events for you to choose from on Saturday the 30th or you can go to both! From 3:00pm until 4:30pm you can go on a tour of historic downtown Cambridge called the Forgotten Places & Spaces Walking Tour. The theme of the tour is different for the different dates throughout the year. Admission is $20, but it goes to a great cause to help restore our city.

Also on Saturday the 30th is the Rock the Block party. This is along historic Wheeling Avenue. Out on the sidewalks will be music and artists, and then all of the participating merchants doors will be marked with painted chairs. This will be going on from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.

There’s nothing quite like heading to the drive-in theater on a cool summer night. Sitting in the comfort of your vehicle, munching on candy and enjoying the fresh air while a blockbuster plays out on the giant outdoor screen

Though not as popular as they once were, drive-in movie theaters are luckily still around. Here in Cambridge, the closest theater is in Strasburg and is called the Lynn Auto Theatre.

This is Ohio’s oldest drive-in movie theater. Beginning operation in 1937, the theater has evolved over the years. The latest renovation allows for patrons to enjoy HD sound from their vehicle stereo. They also feature fully digital projection, making for an incredibly sharp picture. Not only does Lynn Auto Theatre have a complete concession stand, but it also has an arcade which makes it great for the whole family.

Pricing is set at $7 for adults and $3 for children aged 5 to 11.

The slogan at the Lynn Auto Theatre is “Come as you are in the family car” which highlights arguably the best thing about the drive-in–you don’t have to dress up!

Warm Weather Means It’s Time for Car Spring Cleaning

Is your car ready for spring? It will be with these car spring cleaning tips!

Is your car ready for spring? It will be with these car spring cleaning tips!

Warm weather is right around the corner. That means it is time for spring cleaning. Regular cleaning and detailing can not only increase the resale value of your car, but it can also make your car last longer as well. Car spring cleaning may just make your car like new.

According to Consumer Report, one of the best things to do to keep resale value up is to detail the interior. Car shoppers are looking for autos that are fresh and clean—don’t let your car get too dirty. Remove any trash, vacuum every inch, and rent a steam cleaner for any fabrics. Use leather cleaner on leather surfaces, and be sure to spray air vents out with compressed air.

When cleaning windows, make sure to spray on your cloth first before wiping them—never spray on the window. Use microfiber cloths to avoid scratching. One trick some detailers use is to rub the windshield with clean newspaper, which can supposedly remove glare.

For the exterior, give your car a complete wash and dry by hand. Put a fresh coat of wax—use the paste wax that is applied by hand, as it works best. Exterior trim cleaner is available for plastic trims, and it can clean up any scuffs and dirt.

Finally, do routine maintenance. Top off fluids, change oil if necessary, and check your tires. Tire pressure may change in warmer weather, so be sure to accommodate. Also check for bulges, uneven wear, and cracking. Come in to Cambridge Classic Ford of Cambridge, OH where we can help with your car spring cleaning!

We have an effective way to warm up your car this winter!

The Most Effective Way to Warm Up Your Car

We have an effective way to warm up your car this winter!

We have an effective way to warm up your car this winter!

This year, winter in Ohio has been relatively mild, but you never know when the weather will change. But, even with the minimal snow fall, we have still had some pretty cold temperatures, which can make your commute pretty frosty. If you’re looking for the most effective way to warm up your car without idling, try these steps as suggested by the professionals at A/C Pro.

  1. Start your car, but do not turn on the heater. You should actually turn it off so that no air is blowing on you. Nobody likes being blasted in the face with ice cold air.
  2. Make sure the recycled air switch is turned on, so once you do turn on the air, it will warm up faster.
  3. Drive for a few minutes and then test the air to see if it is warming up.
  4. Once you feel warm air, change the air path so that is only coming out near your feet. Since heat rises, this will help warm up your whole car.
  5. When the air has reached a comfortable temperature, turn off the recycled air feature so your windows don’t get foggy.

Do you use this method to warm up your car quickly? Try it out and let us at Cambridge Classic Ford of Cambridge, OH know how it works for you.

New Year’s Resolution Ideas

Do you have good New Year's resolution ideas for 2016?

Do you have good New Year’s resolution ideas for 2016?

Whether it’s getting in shape or saving more money, everyone has a goal for the New Year. While some live with the “go big or go home” mentality, others choose something small. No matter which group you belong to, getting some fresh ideas never hurt. Here are some New Year’s resolution ideas to give you a jumping off point:

  1. Balance your budget. While many people dread balancing any sort of budget, it isn’t a bad idea in the slightest. Keeping a balanced budget can help secure a better, brighter financial future. You don’t have to tackle the whole thing at once. Instead, try to plan your expenses week by week and stick to the budget.
  2. Improve your personal life. Something many try to do, improving your personal life, life outside of work, can be challenging, especially if you’re pinching pennies. New hobbies are a great way to brighten up your life and many don’t cost much, if anything at all.
  3. Renew bonds. We aren’t talking bank bonds here! Bonding with those you love is a fantastic goal that will help both yourself and your friends and family. Set aside time each week to be social and spend time with your loved ones.

Let us at Cambridge Classic Ford know if you decide to try out any of these New Year’s resolution ideas!

Winter is just around the corner, so get prepared with this windshield wiper maintenance.

Winter is just around the corner, so get prepared with this windshield wiper maintenance.

Windshield wipers are truly one of the most important aspects of a vehicle, and sometimes we tend to forget about them until it’s too late. Keep your visibility undisturbed by following these windshield wiper maintenance tips:

  • Be sure to clean your windshield frequently, perhaps every time you fill up the gas tank.
  • Give your windshield wipers a thorough cleaning as well, as often as necessary and especially after long trips.
  • About once a month, inspect your windshield wipers, looking for cracks and nicks, rust, and tears in the rubber.
  • Never use your windshield wipers to de-ice your windshield, as this can do serious damage to the wipers.
  • If it ever seems as if your windshield wipers aren’t working as they should, don’t wait to replace them.
  • Lastly, be sure to have a professional look over your windshield wipers once a year or so, to cover anything you may have missed.

How do you keep your windshield wipers in tip-top shape? Let us know your ideas in the comments, and be safe this cold-weather season!

  • Route 513 Bridge. The Route 513 Bridge in Quaker City is said to be haunted by a ghost who rides along in vehicles or taps walkers on the shoulder. However, it seems he cannot cross the running water, so he won’t follow you to the other side of the bridge.
  • Deep Cut on US 40. Drive along US 40 between Old Washington and Cambridge and you might just spot a headless ghost along the Deep Cut section of the road.
  • Headless Man of Londonerry. The woods surrounding Londonerry in Guernsey County are said to be haunted by another headless man who is looking for revenge against the thieves who murdered him.
