The 2016 Ford Escape just hints at the new SYNC Connect technology that will be in the 2017 Escape.

Ford has recently stated that the 2017 Ford Escape will be the first vehicle to feature its new SYNC Connect technology.

With SYNC Connect, an owner will be able to access his or her vehicle via a smartphone app, which will allow them to do everything from remotely starting their automobiles, to checking the vehicle’s tire pressure and fuel levels, all from their smartphones.

A built in modem is included with the new Escape, and that’s what the new SYNC Connect technology will be linking to in order to execute all of its remote functions. In addition, a two-step authorization process will be required for users to access the system so that private information can be protected.

“New SYNC Connect provides convenience to Ford owners through an easy-to-use app,” said Don Butler, executive director, Ford Connected Vehicle and Services. “The technology helps you seamlessly integrate your vehicle into your lifestyle. Get locked out? Cold outside? Forget where you parked? No problem. Just use your smartphone.”

Ford will be providing five complimentary years of SYNC Connect service, but pricing for the technology after those initial five years has yet to be announced. Come learn more at Cambridge Classic Ford of Cambridge, OH!

Sales Numbers Show Best November for Ford in Years

For the month of November, the Ford Motor Company’s sales totaled 187,000 vehicles. Several of the brand’s models posted monthly sales numbers we haven’t seen in a long time.

The Ford Mustang, redesigned for 2015 and its golden anniversary year, sold 8,728 vehicles. That’s the best November sales the model has experienced since 2006.

“Our all-new Mustang is moving quickly off dealer lots,” said John Felice, Ford’s vice president of US Marketing, Sales, and Service. “Mustang has had its best November sales in eight years and is turning in just eight days on dealer lots, on average.”

Adding to the Mustang’s success, more than 25,500 units of the Ford Escape were sold, setting a new record for the SUV’s best ever November sales. In addition, sales of the Explorer were recorded at 14,949, marking the model’s greatest results in 10 years.

We at Cambridge Classic Ford are excited to continue this trend of record-setting sales as we come to the year’s end and begin to look toward 2015. If you missed out on contributing to the best November for Ford, help give the brand its best December sales by finding your perfect model.

2013 Ford Escape Earns Top Safety Pick

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) recently named the 2013 Ford Escape a “Top Safety Pick”.   The redesigned model boasts several safety features that helped it earn the IIHS’ seal of approval.

The 2013 Escape earned top scores in each of the IIHS’s primary categories: frontal, side, and rear impact, as well as of the subcategories it was tested in.  Improving from the previous Escape, the 2013 earned an excellent strength-to-weight ratio of 5.03 in the IIHS roof strength test.

A slew of technological features have helped further increase safety in the 2013 Ford Escape.  Those features include: active park assist to aid in parallel parking, intelligent access with push-button start, BLIS (Blind-Spot Information System) with cross-traffic alert, and a hands-free liftgate.

The 2013 Ford Escape is also equipped with SYNC with MyFord Touch which allows the driver to control just about everything in the vehicle with just the sound of their voice.  From making phone calls and selecting music to controlling the climate of the vehicle, this Escape allows drivers to keep their eyes on the road and their hands on the wheel.
