Spring Cleaning Tips: Making Housework Easy

Spring Cleaning Tips | Cambridge Classic Ford | Cambridge, OH

Time to get your cleaning on

Warm weather and sunny skies mean it’s about time for spring cleaning. This annual tradition is important for getting rid of clutter and grime from the winter months. That’s why we’ve put together a list of spring cleaning tips to help you make the most of your housework. Plus, you can apply many of these tips to your car to get a spotless shine.

According to Good Housekeeping, one of the first things you should take advantage of your dishwasher. For example, you can easily put in a load of glass light fixtures, ceramic toothbrush holders, toys, and more. Just be sure everything is dishwasher safe before you put it in.

Tips and Tricks

Next, clean the doormat. This is one of the first things that visitors will notice—why not clean it or get a new one. The best way to get rid of dirt is by simply shaking it out, though some suggest washing with detergent and hosing off. You can also apply most of these rules to the mats in your car; be sure to shake them out once in a while.

Clean your mattress. Many people regularly clean their sheets, but few take care of their mattress. Take off any covers and vacuum your mattress thoroughly. Be sure to use the highest setting, and try spot cleaning stains. After it’s dry, spray your mattress with disinfectant for a like-new smell and feel.

These are just the basics of spring cleaning. If you’re also cleaning your car, be sure to schedule regular maintenance at Cambridge Classic Ford as well.

Pranks and Gags for April Fool’s Day

April Fool’s Day | Cambridge Classic Ford | Cambridge, OH

History of the Jokester Day

April Fool’s Day began nearly 500 years ago. When the modern calendar was invented, the start of the year shifted from spring (roughly April) to mid-Winter, or January. Those who didn’t realize the calendar had changes were subject to jokes and pranks, thus starting one of the most popular traditions of the year. We’ve listed a number of April Fool’s Day tricks for you to consider.

According to Deal News, one of the most important things to remember is to gauge your audience. Make sure they would appreciate a good April Fool’s Day prank, and be sure to keep everyone safe and the mood light. One of the best pranks around is writing “PUSH” on a pull door—a simple trick that’s bound to fool a few unsuspecting people.

Silly Pranks

Another popular prank is to tape over electronic devices. Specifically, you’ll use clear tape to cover the sensor of a television remote, video game remote, or mouse. This simple trick will leave many baffled for a few moments, a light but fun way to celebrate April Fool’s Day.

Finally, consider the anti-prank. This trick is great for those who are already suspicious on April 1. Simply get an empty can and fill it with your favorite treat. As you walk around, in an especially distrustful manner, ask if anyone would like the snack in the can. When they say no, thinking it’s a trap, that’s when you open the can and chow down.

At Cambridge Classic Ford, we love a good prank or two. Be sure to have a fun April 1, but always keep tricks safe and fun for everyone.

5 Cool Facts About St. Patrick’s Day Traditions

St. Patrick's Day Traditions

Do you know the origins behind these common St. Patrick’s Day traditions? Read on to find out.

  • St. Patrick Was a British Missionary -Born a British noble during the occupation of the Roman Empire, St. Patrick was kidnapped and enslaved at 16 in Ireland. He eventually escaped but came back later as a missionary to convert the native Irish.

Ford Augmented Reality

Ford Augmented Reality Is Like X-Ray Vision

Ford Augmented Reality

According to Ford, the augmented-reality system can be thought of as x-ray vision, though it doesn’t use x-rays to function. Essentially, it lets you see beneath the surface of Ford vehicles, looking at suspension components, the frame, engine, and more. It’s an entirely new way to shop for a car, an especially appealing feature for the tech-minded.

“Think of augmented reality as the blending of virtual reality with real life,” says Garett Carr, Ford global auto shows manager. “It’s like having x-ray vision, with the power to take people deeper into our product and technology stories – it feels a little like magic.”

Other cool cars revealed at the show include the latest F-150, Ford Performance, and EcoSport to optimize power and fuel economy, as well as a self-driving Fusion. When placed alongside the new augmented-reality system, Ford is demonstrating its innovative ideas for the next few years.

The Big Day of Romance

Car lovers can be difficult to shop for on Valentine’s Day; however, we’ve provided a list of gift ideas to consider. While some people might be able to afford a new supercar (every car lover’s dream), some are just looking for accessories or even road trips. Read on to learn more about Valentine’s Day gifts for car lovers.

According to Autobytel, you should think about getting a car wash kit if your significant other already has a car they love. This includes a sponge, chamois cloth, premium wax, tire cleaner, detailer, and high-quality wash. You can also splurge for aluminum and chrome metal polish, perfect for making any car shine like new.

Next, consider a headlight restoration kit for older vehicles. Does your valentine’s car have yellow headlights? They might need a special kit to bring it back to the original condition. Such kits usually include abrasive materials, including multiple grades of sandpaper, cotton, and more. They also come with special compounds to restore lights to their original look.

Finally, if your valentine has a clunker, you might consider a diagnostic scan tool. Some car lovers enjoy owning a jalopy because it gives them a chance to do some work. However, fixing complex problems can be difficult if you’re not a technician. Consider an app or code reader (usually under $100) for Valentine’s Day.
