Ford is introducing its toughest, smartest, and most capable F-150 yet, once more setting the standard for trucks around the year for the coming year.
For the first time, the F-150 is built with high-strength, military-grade aluminum alloys normally found in aerospace and commercial transportation, improving dent and ding resistance and even reducing up to 700 pounds of weight overall. This will help the new truck to stop, accelerate, and tow more quickly as well as save more fuel.
Under the hood, Ford added two new engines: a 2.7-liter EcoBoost with standard Auto Start-Stop and a 3.5-liter V6 engine with twin independent variable camshaft timing, which will deliver more power and efficiency than ever before.
The F-150 is also getting a lot smarter, taking on dozens of advanced technologies like 360-degree camera view, a next-generation tailgate step, smart trailer tow module, and BoxLink—an assortment of metal brackets and custom cleats that can be used to secure just about anything in the cargo box.
It’ll go on sale late this year. We’ll see you then at the Cambridge Classic Ford dealership!
